i often saw her sitting on that bench.
her face always looks the same.
dim shadow lying over her face,
and the look in her eye when she gaze.

i often sit beside her. talks to her.
aside from the look on her face,
she turns out to be quite good as a partner to conversate.

it's just THAT THING with her bothers me so much.
that scent of hers.


(sniff sniff) "huuuh~.....that's strange"

"huh?"

"you don't smell"

(embarassed) "of course i don't!! what are you saying out of the blue...."

"no..no...i don't mean that...uhmmm..."

(confused) "huh??"

"it's not like you smelly or something......i mean.....you have no scent"

"scent?"

"yeah. scent. everybody has it"

"really?"

"for example, that person" (pointing out somebody)
"she has the scent of child....it tastes sweet, like candies. and milk. although she's a grown up

and that person,
he has the scent of another man...tastes like musk, and cigarret... uhm..how to put this? it tastes manly
but when you look at him, he's not manly at all...wonder where he got that scent from

or she, she has mixed scent...
say,
cigarret, men's cologne, perfume, shaving cream, weeds, alcohol
so many scent that made me feels i had enough just from a sip..."

"geeeez......what are you? a dog or somethin?
what you've just said,... that's creepy you know"

"yeah i know, i know. i've been told that alot. i just can help it (sigh)
it's not like i did it on purpose. it just struck me, you know.
like when you eat something, once the food's in, you naturally can taste various spices in it"

"oh wow....."

"so, like i said, it's strange you got no scent.
haven't you been with anybody?"

(blushing) "that's.....that's.....none of ....i don't have to answer that"

"i'm not saying THAT kind of question"

"then what do you mean?"

"hmmm...how to put this?...." (thinking)
"the scent is, like someone's life story. their scent changing as life goes on.
when they're attached to another, their scent also change.
like their own scent mixed up with scent of person they're involved with"

(amazed) "heeee~"

"....and you have no scent..no, it's more like your scent's really vague"

"is that so?"

"it smells like thin air...sometimes it's smells like i'm inhaling winter air. tastes like snow"

"really?"

"yeah"

"you're so different. i wonder....howcome you got that kind of scent"

(laughing) "i don't know either...."


you know, actually i figured it out already.
why do you have that kind of scent.
but i'd rather to pretend not knowing;
because if i told you why, wouldn't be that kind of sad?
